Why it Happens
Fashion, as I practice it, works with bison in old ways to create new ways to experience this magnificent creature as a provider of warmth and inspiration; uniting its past with our present.
I believe in the value of bison as a measure of national health.
I believe bison are to be respected, treated humanely, enjoyed, and used.
Bison ranching provides the growth necessary to bring bison back to our inner and outer landscape.

How it Happens
Ranched Bison helped the bison population grow from near extinction in 1875 (only 300) to over 500,000 in North America today. As a member of the Montana Bison Association, Montana Bison Fashion & Yarns has developed relationships with bison ranches across Montana. All bison are humanely managed with their health and well being given the utmost priority. When Montana Bison Fashion & Yarns began in 2006, most all bison hides went unused, deposited in landfills, or left outside to rot. We helped create a new niche market to further the use of our great national icon.
